Green Glade Studmasters
Bill and Lorelie Larsson

We have been involved with cattle for many years and in 1993 we changed from Charolais to Dexters. We enjoy showing our cattle and having visits and phone calls from people who are interested in Dexters.

Both of us like red and black Dexters so we have consciously introduced the red gene into our herd. Most of our black breeders are carrying the red gene.

All of our cattle are either tested free or are free by inheritance of both known genes for chondrodysplasia. We are also in the National Johnes programme and have been MN3 for four years. This accreditation makes it possible to sell our cattle anywhere in Australia.

We also have an orchard of apricots, peaches, peacharines and plums. The fruit is mostly dried and sold from our stall at the Barossa Farmers Market. Vegetables and salad greens form our large vege garden are also sold at the market.

A Boarding Cattery which accommodates 25 cats completes the enterprises at Green Glade.

Our activities keep us very busy but we enjoy meeting the diverse variety of people interested in our enterprises.

Green Glade's Goal

The aim of the Green Glade Stud is to breed a consistent line of polled Dexter cattle that conform as closely as possible to the breed standards. We are currently achieving about half of our yearly drop of calves being polled.
